The Osby company Eltex of Sweden AB today is the leading company in the world on yarn break sensors and yarn tension sensors for textile machines. The idea At the ITMA fair in Hanover 1963 Eltex introduced the first electronic weft stop motion. The company founder got the idea to develop an equipment for supervision of the weft yarn in 1960. A prototype was developed, and in 1962 the world's first electronic weft stop motion was born. The start The ITMA fair in Hanover was the starting shot for Eltex and on February 4th 1964 the company was founded. The first premises had the impressive area of 12 m². In 1968 we built a factory of 3000 m² where we resided until 2007. Out in the world Eltex was set for export and the yarn supervision products still have almost 100% sale outside the Swedish borders. Because of that, the company built an organisation with its own companies aimed on sales and service. In Templemore in Ireland a production company was started in 1976. The Irish company, Eltex Manufacturing Ltd., today manufactures all the products developed in Osby. To the organisation is added a world-wide network of representatives and retailers. New products Since 1994 Eltex develops and manufactures loggers and software for acquisition and analyzing of measured values. An important operating field is own-check work in food handling. The future At the latest ITMA fair the 3rd generation of weft sensors for rapier machines were introduced. Now we are developing a new weft sensor for air-jet and the interest for our yarn tension technique is increasing. In 2007 Eltex got new owners and moved to Osby. |
